Position Reports to:
- Functional Manager – Transport Group (India)
Primary Purpose of Position:
- Assist in the planning, conduct and reporting of projects being undertaken by SMEC. Within this overall purpose your tasks will include, under the leadership, supervision and direction of senior staff:
- Preparation of Standards for projects of toll collection and HTMS
- Should have experience of international latest practices in the field of HTMS and tolling
- Should have work experience on at least 2 similar projects in similar capacity

Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering/Electronics/Computer Science/other relevant areas
- Experience of at least 15 years
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment
- Strong project management capabilities and experience
- Able to work effectively in own area of expertise with minimum direct supervision.
Hydropower Engineer

Position Reports to:
- General Manager- CIG/ Power
Primary Purpose of Position:
- Responsible for design of all the civil component of Hydro Power project like dam, spillway, water conduction system etc, preparation of project reports, Issue of construction drawings and delivery of project within given budget and time schedule to the full satisfaction of the client
Key Responsibilities:
- Project management and planning
- Preparation of PFR/ DPR, tender engineering and detailed engineering of hydropower projects
- Hydraulic analysis and design
- Structural design
- Hydraulic structures civil design
- Components optimisation
- Quality and cost estimation
- Report writing and tender/ contract document preparation
- Mentoring junior engineers in the group
- Attending project coordination meetings
- Co-ordination with the clients, planning and ensuring smooth functioning of various activities related to the project
Key Performance Indicators:
- Project delivery to meet client’s Terms of Reference (TOR)
- Commercial awareness, timely submission of invoices and financial reports, reduction of lock-up
- Technical support and mentoring
- Clients’ feedback about quality of deliverables
Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor degree or higher in Civil Engineering from an accredited university with 7 to 15 years of experience
- Knowledge of Hydropower project design related softwares such as Hammer, WHAMO, Hecras, Stad Pro, Flac etc
- Knowledge of tender documents and contracts
- Experience of working with international funding agencies such as the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank and private clients
- Ability to write fluently in English in order to prepare business development material including proposals, reports, etc
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of appropriate software applications and design tools
- Demonstrated ability to successfully undertake and deliver client’s Terms of Reference
- Proven project management skills, encompassing administrative, commercial and technical aspects focused on delivering projects within budget and timelines. Understanding of operational and project contractual arrangements
Structural Engineer

- Design of steel and RCC structures using STAAD Pro software
- Design of concrete lining for tunnels
- Estimation of bill of quantities
- Review of contractor drawings
- Project Management and leading team of engineers
Key Performance Indicators:
- Project delivery to meet client’s Terms of Reference (TOR)
- Commercial awareness, timely submission of invoices and financial reports, reduction of lock-up
- Technical support and mentoring
- Client’s feedback about quality of deliverables
Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor degree or higher in Civil Engineering from an accredited university with 3 to 12 years of experience
- Good knowledge of structural engineering softwares and finite element softwares
- Ability to write fluently in English in order to prepare design memorandum and reports etc
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of appropriate software applications and design tools
- Demonstrated ability to successfully undertake and deliver client’s Terms of Reference
